You should now be ready to try your first tune in earnest. The following tune, I Buried My Wife And Danced On Her Grave, is suitable for all types of ornamentation, which is why I chose it. You will start with the basic tune, and add ornamentation as you learn how, so you should have a fairly easy time of it. This should also help you understand where and how ornamentation can be applied to other tunes.

EXERCISE 12
Start from the beginning of the tune and proceed one bar at a time, playing
the tune slowly. Memorize each bar, and practice it until you can play it
easily, then play the tune from the start to the end of that bar before
proceeding to the next. Only tongue between two identical notes. Try to
put more emphasis on the first and fourth beats in every bar. Continue until
you can play the tune all the way through from memory.
